Years ago the GCBA commissioned the construction of a mobile brewery (The Brewery On A Trailer) that was intended to capture the minds and spirits of local beer enthusiasts, with the end goal being inspiration to make their own beer at home.
Not only this, but it was intended to be a source of pride for club members, something that could be displayed for other homebrew clubs, something that we would be proud to call our own. Generously underwritten by member Joe Goss, and built with hundreds of hours of volunteer labor – we set the BOAT to sail in 2006.
The trailer is in regular use, used five to six times per year at club brewing days and making appearances around Northern California. It is the hallmark of our club, attracting new brewers, producing excellent beers, and making clubs around the country green with envy.
